Chris Richards demonstrates how to do a Smith Machine Seated Calf Raise.
Depending on the height of the bench you are using set up the smith machine so you can position your knee on the bar allowing movement upwards and downwards.
Place a step up bench in front of you so you can get a good stretch on your calves on the eccentric (way down) and are able to push up through your big toes to really squeeze your calves hard at the top of the movement.
You may need to raise the height of your bum as seen in the video to ensure you are appropriately positioned.
Place a towel or foam pad on the bar to ensure you aren’t distracted by the bar but can focus on the contraction on your calves.
