Modified Calf Raise

This week’s exercise is a modified calf raise which aims to increase the activation of the tibialis posterior muscle. This muscle commonly becomes weak and under-active, which can lead to foot pain/dysfunction.
To perform this exercise remove shoes and point the toes inwards. Next, lift the toes up off the ground and perform calf raises in this position. You may need to hold on to a wall for balance. As always, remember to consult with your GP or Exercise Physiologist before beginning an exercise program.
